A compact and slim DAP that can be attached to the back of a smartphone
The SnowSky Disc is a digital audio player (DAP) that not only offers smooth navigation through FiiO's proprietary Linux-based operating system, but also convenience for users looking for a device to listen to music on smartphones without a headphone jack.
When you attach the Disc DAP to the back of your smartphone, you have two options: you can either listen to music stored on the microSD card inserted into the digital audio player, or connect the DAP to your phone via a USB cable to play tracks from streaming services such as Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, or Tidal.
Roon support for playback control
With the Disc, users can control music playback via Roon software. This allows commands to be issued from a smartphone, tablet, or PC without having to connect a USB cable to the DAP. By installing the Roon app, users can browse, listen to, and control music playback on all supported devices.
Output power sufficient for most portable headphones
With 280 mW of output power from the balanced 4.4 mm headphone output, the Disc is capable of driving most portable headphones, including in-ear monitors (IEMs), earbuds, and on-ear models.
Internal battery
You don't have to worry about your smartphone running out of power when you connect it via USB to listen to streaming apps. There are also two gain levels for better volume control per step, which is especially helpful for headphones with high sensitivity and low impedance.
Large storage capacity for music
The Disc supports microSD cards up to 2TB, providing ample storage capacity for music files such as MP3 or FLAC. In addition, according to FiiO, this DAP can scan 5,000 tracks in just 30 seconds.
Firmware updates via Wi-Fi
Thanks to the Disc's Wi-Fi connectivity, firmware updates can be installed via OTA. This eliminates the need to download the file to a PC and copy it to the microSD card, as is the case with the Echo Mini.
Buttons and controls
Navigating through menus and music albums on the SnowSky Disc is smooth thanks to the use of gesture shortcuts in combination with multifunctional physical buttons.
Different themes for displaying information
With the SnowSky Disc, users can change the way information is displayed on the screen by choosing from different visual themes.
