True audiophile quality - 3.5-inch carbon fibre mid/bass driver
The FiiO SP3 features a 3.5-inch carbon-fibre mid-woofer that is larger than comparable products in its class. These larger woofers have an inherent advantage over smaller woofers in terms of dynamics, projection of a larger soundstage and other sonic characteristics. Whether for movies or music, this woofer is capable of expressing the grandeur of sound even at higher volumes. Carbon fibre is extremely strong and rigid, yet lightweight - the ideal properties for a speaker driver. The light weight of carbon fibre allows the woofer to transient quickly, while the high strength and stiffness of carbon fibre reduces non-linear distortion by minimising unwanted secondary vibrations as the driver moves during sound production. Overall, the woofer's carbon fibre material contributes to faithful sound reproduction and immerses you even deeper into your high-fidelity experience. Each carbon fibre in the SP3 is just 0.007mm thick - the thickness of a single hair. These fibres are interwoven, which helps improve sound quality by ensuring a wrinkle-free diaphragm and making the diaphragm stronger and more resistant to cracking after prolonged movement and use of the driver.

In an active desktop speaker, the tweeter often plays a crucial role in reproducing fine musical detail, instrumental harmonics and overall treble resolution. Unlike many other active desktop speakers that use a ¾-inch tweeter, the SP3 uses a 1-inch tweeter that can produce frequencies up to 35 kHz. The tweeter's copper-clad KSV aluminium voice coil ensures that ultra-high frequencies are not compressed, even at high volumes - resulting in improved high-frequency response even with off-axis listening, and high-resolution highs with a natural timbre. With the SP3, you'll be able to hear even the subtlest vibrations of instruments.

Robust performance - Always at hand - Asymmetrical internal and external magnetic circuits
To ensure that the 3.5-inch carbon-fibre midwoofer produces truly powerful bass and that the SP3 can deliver its full potential, the design team created an asymmetrical system of internal and external magnetic circuits. An additional magnet has been placed in the centre of the SP3 to form an internal and external magnetic circuit, which improves the strength of the magnetic field generated and allows a magnetic flux of up to 1.2 Tesla. This is the powerful driving force behind the driver that gives the SP3 its dynamic sound. In addition, the asymmetrical internal and external magnetic circuit systems help reduce non-linear distortion across all frequencies, so good sound is always available, no matter what music you listen to.

Using high quality parts - Soft dome tweeter with wave-absorbing structure
In the FiiO SP3, the design team considered several aspects when selecting the tweeter material. The softness of the inner part of the silk tweeter also acts as a sound wave absorber, effectively absorbing unwanted sound waves behind the driver and further improving the tweeter's sound output. Low resonant frequency and high current capability have always been the goals of designers of high-fidelity audio products. The FiiO SP3 features a large empty cavity behind the tweeter magnet that allows the tweeter to reproduce frequencies up to an astonishing 800Hz. Even when the tweeter is reproducing frequencies above 20kHz, the rear cavity and overall tweeter design allow unwanted sound waves to escape and reduce the resonances created by the tweeter's movement. The result is silky smooth yet well extended highs.

For outstanding sound quality, the FiiO SP3 has been specially tuned and designed to ensure that sound waves reach the listener in the best possible way. The tweeter is precisely angled to ensure virtually lossless transmission of sound waves to the listener over an off-axis range of 0 to ±15°, eliminating the need for the user to listen in a particular position and making speaker positioning more convenient. In addition, the horizontal stripe pattern in front of the tweeter has been designed to allow the sound waves emanating from the tweeter to spread more easily through the room, greatly improving the perceived soundstage and creating the illusion of actually being in a large concert hall.

Immersive Sound Starts with the Details - Double Diffused S-shaped Orifice Tube
In speakers with a bass reflex port, bass frequencies are generated by the woofer and the bass reflex tube. The purpose of the bass reflex tube is to further improve bass extension and control for fast bass transients and overall better bass quality. The FiiO SP3 features a 3.5-inch mid-bass driver, which is larger than usual in its class. This means that the woofer vibrates more when playing bass-driven music, and thus more air flows through the speaker's port. Engineers must take this airflow into account when designing the porting system to ensure that the air flows smoothly and the bass response is of high quality. After going through dozens of different designs, FiiO engineers finally came up with the innovative "double diffused S-shaped porting tube" that allows the SP3 to achieve its goals: to be compact and still produce high quality sound. First, this porting tube has a much smaller cross-section than typical porting tubes, so the SP3 has a small volume. Second, FiiO engineers carefully designed the "S" shape of the porting tube to maximise even airflow and minimise turbulence. Finally, special damping has been added to the inlet and outlet of the tube to reduce audible noise and ensure pure, robust bass quality. All in all, the SP3 will effortlessly immerse you in a movie thanks to its ability to accurately reproduce sound effects.

In professional audio products, an active crossover is used to split the frequencies in a sound signal, sending the higher frequencies to the tweeter amplifier and then to the tweeter, and the lower frequencies to the woofer amplifier and then to the woofer. This avoids interference between signals sent to different drivers. The FiiO SP3 uses an active crossover with a crossover frequency of 3.4 kHz, specifically chosen to maximise the performance of the tweeter and woofer. The SP3 uses a 2-way active second-order filter circuit to more accurately control the crossover frequency and ensure that signals sent to each driver are more effectively isolated, resulting in less intermodulation distortion, avoiding driver overload and greatly improving power delivery efficiency. The SP3 power supply can deliver up to an astonishing 100W, so you can experience a truly thunderous sound that is unparalleled in its class.

Breathe, with the music - LED lighting effects
For a unit that sits on your desk, looks are very important! The SP3 features LED lights on the underside of the cabinet. When you switch on the SP3, the underside of the unit is instantly illuminated, creating a new atmosphere on your desk. During use, the SP3 automatically switches to a pulsating light mode that alternates between the 24 different colours and lets you breathe along with your music. (Can be deactivated)

Closer to your ear For sound that's closer to your heart - Exclusive stand with 7-degree elevation.
As is common in the professional audio world, the tweeter should be at ear level and the tweeter axis no more than 15 degrees from the ear for a better near-field listening experience. That's why we designed an exclusive stand with a 7-degree tilt angle specifically for the SP3. We conducted listening tests with 5-15° and 7-15° stands, with the listener 1 to 1.2 metres away from the speaker. In these tests, we concluded that a stand with a 7 degree tilt angle provides the most accurate sound for listeners in the near field. In addition, the stand is made of silicone, which acts as a shock absorber by creating a soft surface between the SP3 and the desk, reducing sound distortion due to vibration during sound reproduction.
