Dual-DAC ESS ES9038Q2M - Versatile and powerful sound at the same time

So Hi-Res player like the FiiO M11S consists of a variety of components, and each has its part in the sound. However, one component in particular stands out: the digital-to-analog converter used. It is responsible for converting the stored music into the audible waveform that is ultimately to be reproduced.
For this very reason, the M11S uses not one, but two DAC chips from the American digital specialist ESS. The ES9038Q2M, in which one chip each takes care of the decoding of the right and left channel, respectively. It doesn't get any more consistent than this.
In addition to its already impressive capabilities on paper ( DSD256, 32/384 bit/kHz and 123 dB signal-to-noise ratio), it convinces with a sensationally smooth, natural and brilliant sound that lets you discover your music in a whole new way. Good music is more than just the product of ones and zeros.

Energy-efficient and smooth operation - thanks to Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor.
The FiiO M11S is equipped with Qualcomm's fast Snapdragon 660. The processor is built according to the Big.LITTLE concept - four powerful cores are used for computing-intensive tasks and four energy-saving cores for less demanding processes. On the one hand, this ensures that the M11S always responds smoothly to operating inputs, but on the other hand, it is also so energy-efficient that you can practically listen to music all day long.
Besides the processor itself, the rest of the equipment is also impressive. Namely, 3 GB of working memory and 32 GB of internal storage, which can also be expanded up to 2 terabytes via microSD memory card.

Full of voltage and energy - With up to 670 milliwatts of power!
We are moved by the music, your headphones on the other hand pure power. And the simple motto applies: "The more, the better!". With up to 670 milliwatts (in balanced mode at 32 ohm load, 200 milliwatts at 32 ohm single-ended), there is far more than enough of it available.

Shields up! - Outside interference doesn't stand a chance
As nice as it is to talk and exchange with each other: With electrical circuits, this is definitely undesirable. And so FiiO has not only completely redesigned the motherboard itself and consistently separated the digital and analog circuits in the M11S, but also shielded them against outside influences using appropriate metal sheets. This measure once again underlines the consistency, respect and love that FiiO Musik pays to the best possible sound.

Android 10 as operating system - flexible, intuitive and beautiful
The built-in hardware plays a big role in the full music experience - but not alone. It is the basis for it, but ultimately the software that controls the hardware also decides what comes out in the end. And since FiiO also leaves nothing to chance with the M11S, they have chosen probably the most flexible and versatile operating system available: Android!
And as good as Android already sounds in its "factory state", it still has a lot of potential for further improvements. This is a challenge that FiiO is happy to take on and has optimized the operating system down to the smallest detail. Probably the most important feature is "SRC Global Bypass". This means that the Sampling Rate Converter (SRC for short), which is feared by audiophile purists, is completely deactivated.
Your music remains untouched and unchanged by the operating system and is processed and played back in the original. Just as it should be.

Music, just the way you want it - In five different modes
With the FiiO M11S, you don't "just" listen to music, you listen to it the way you like it best. Quite specifically, you have the choice between:
1. Android mode: you have full access to all the possibilities of Android, including all apps.
2. pure music mode: everything that is not needed is turned off. Including all apps that could interfere with pure music enjoyment by putting a load on the processor.
3. blueooth receive mode: The M11S receives music from other Bluetooth transmitters such as smartphones, laptops or other Bluetooth devices.
4. USB DAC mode: Once connected to the computer via USB, it turns it into a real HiFi device.
5. AirPlay mode: Bypasses the limitations of Bluetooth use with Apple devices and provides first-class sound there as well.

Plenty of connectivity options - something for everyone
No matter what connection you're thinking of, the FiiO M11S has it - guaranteed. And that's both wireless and classic wired. The following standards and connections are on board the FiiO M11S:

Bluetooth 5.0 - And that as a transmitter and as a receiver.
Bluetooth is still the king among wireless protocols when it comes to a fast and uncomplicated connection of transmitter and receiver. With Bluetooth 5.0, the FiiO M11S not only adds a high range and interference resistance, but also an enormous variety of standards. In addition to SBC and AAC, aptX, aptX-HD and LDAC and LHDC are also available in the transmitter direction.

And the best thing about it: The M11S not only sends music via Bluetooth, but also receives it! Thus, the player also acts as a high-quality Bluetooth receiver; and that via SBC, AAC and LDAC. The player then outputs the music received in this way as usual via its headphone jacks, via USB or the coaxial digital output and ensures the best sound.
2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WLAN - music from NAS and the Internet
Even though the FiiO M11S has a huge storage capacity, sometimes you need a bit more. And thanks to WLAN with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, the music can come directly from the NAS at home or from the streaming service of your choice (for example, Tidal, Deezer, Spotify, Qobuz). The whole world of music is thus open to you.
Oh, and if you want to listen to music from one of your Apple devices directly through the FiiO M11S: AirPlay is also on board, which is a great alternative to the (under Apple) limited Bluetooth protocol AAC.

Wired is also possible - for example via 2-way USB Type-C.
The USB Type-C port is not a one-way street either. Thus, the FiiO M11S can both receive music digitally and convert it via its high-quality D/A converters in the best quality (maximum 32 bit/384 kHz and DSD128) and pass it on, but also work as a USB transport. As a USB transport, the music stored on the player is simply passed on in digital form to a DAC connected behind it, which then decodes your music. Also works via the coaxial digital output, of course.

So obvious, so versatile - The headphone connections
Last but not least; probably the most frequently used connection type: the headphone. With all the diversity that the FiiO M11S displays, it would probably be a surprise if one had saved" here. Well, there are not only one or two different connection options; no, there are all three.
You can either connect your headphones via the classic 3.5 millimeter jack, fully balanced via the 2.5 millimeter jack or simply via the balanced 4.4 millimeter jack. And if all that is not enough: The 3.5 mm jack output also functions as a coaxial digital output if desired. No matter how you connect the FiiO M11S, one thing is guaranteed: It always sounds excellent.

All the technology and the incredible variety of functions becomes quite simple and clear, with the 5"/12.7 centimeter touch display. With a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, this high-quality IPS display plays to all its strengths. So you can not only hear your music in excellent quality, but also see it.
And if you ever don't feel like operating the player via the touch display integrated into it (for example, because you just have it in your pocket or backpack), you'll appreciate the "FiiO Link" app. Simply connect your smartphone (only Android is supported at the moment) to the M11S via Bluetooth and control it elegantly from your smartphone.It couldn't be simpler.

A real all-rounder - even when it comes to operation. With a single button, you have full control of your music at all times. Add to favorites, pause music or let it continue playing, switch equalizer and much more. Conveniently located on the side of the housing, clearly tactile and always within reach.

Performance needs power - and the M11S delivers!
The M11S is packed to the brim with smart technology and powerful electronics. Of course, all these innovations and high performers also need energy to guarantee the best sound.
So that you still have good music in your ears all day long, FiiO has given the M11S a gigantic battery with 5,300 mAh capacity. This results in a maximum of 14 hours of runtime (depending on the volume setting, the headphones used and the selected file format).

The matching accessories are also included
